“My work is largely influenced by mathematics. Numbers fascinate me, especially since I observe the role it plays in our day-to-day situations and in the spaces we occupy. Numbers can also be utilised for personal growth and improvement; in terms of a lifestyle audit and coming to terms on who we are at any given time”.
Against the background of a rational linear space-time continuum, Phetshane affords himself the freedom of trusting his subconscious to guide him in the process of adding and subtracting in a process of unprompted art-making; of consolidating and unifying the chaotic into a calm whole.
