Born in 1951, Boshoff grew up in a family of carpenters with a love for wood and respect for technical expertise, qualities that served him well in his artistic career. His artworks are carefully researched, planned and pristinely executed; embodied by powerful messages relating to hegemonic relationships.
He has completed an abundance of close to 300 artworks during his career in diverse media such as sand, wood, stone and plant matter, but this quantity is not reflective of his scope of work. Most of his endeavours, such as the Blind Alphabet and Garden of Words are dedicated to long term projects of which each can incorporate between two or more than 400 sub works.
