The artwork consists of the shape of an eye which emerges on the canvas through a sprawling labyrinth of geometric forms and shapes. Duplan moves the paint around on the canvas in order to build texture and hints at layers of meaning, living among the layers of paint. Using reflections of light on the canvas, Duplan paints these prisms of colour and frequency on top of the geometric forms. Domi Adsum (Wave Length) becomes very much about the process of painting as much as the final product itself.
Duplan states that we are all experiencing a new collective frequency amidst current events. “It is up to us to choose to embrace it and to move with it or choose to stay as we were. Whichever we choose both are fine,” says Duplan.
